Understanding Trust Tiers
Contractor profiles may display a Bronze, Silver, or Gold trust-tier badge. Each tier reflects the documents the Contractor has submitted and we have reviewed, not a skills test or employment relationship.
Bronze
Certification verified — Company has reviewed documentation showing a currently valid lifeguard and/or instructor certification.
Silver
Certification verified, plus the Contractor has provided proof of liability insurance.
Gold
Certification verified, insurance provided, and the Contractor has completed a background check through Company's credited third-party provider.
Important Note
A trust-tier badge reflects a documentation review only. It is not a skills assessment and does not ensure a Contractor's competence, safety, or conduct. You are responsible for evaluating whether a Contractor is right for your event — see Know Before You Book below.
Know Before You Book
Before you confirm an engagement, we encourage you to do your own homework. This checklist mirrors the expectations in our Terms of Service Section 3.2:
- Confirm the Contractor's certification and trust-tier badge on their profile.
- Discuss experience relevant to the specific event or venue, including the expected age of swimmers, water type, and any special conditions.
- Confirm required lifeguard-to-swimmer ratios, permit conditions, and venue rules directly with your venue. Any ratio guidance shown on the Platform is general information only and is not a substitute for your own judgment or the venue's requirements.
- Ask about the Contractor's plan for supervising minors if minors will attend your event.
- Get engagement details — schedule, rate, cancellation terms, and any other expectations — confirmed directly with the Contractor before the event. GuardPost is not a party to that arrangement.
How We Help Keep the Community Safe
Message Monitoring
Messages sent through the Platform's messaging system may be monitored and reviewed by Company, directly or through third-party vendors, for fraud, harassment, threats to safety, and violations of our Terms or policies. See Terms of Service Section 2.5 and our Privacy Policy for more information.
Review System
Reviews are tied to completed engagements so future Customers can see real feedback. If a Contractor believes a review violates our policies, they can appeal it and Company may act on that appeal.
Account Safeguards
A Contractor who accumulates repeated no-shows, complaints, or negative reviews is reviewed by Company and may have their profile suspended or deactivated. See Terms of Service Section 6.3.
Report a Concern
If you see something that doesn't look right — a safety concern, suspicious behavior, or a potential Terms violation — please let us know. We review every report we receive.
